On 3 October 2025, we had the special opportunity to spend a day accompanying our valued customer Hartmann at their premises and seeing our vehicles in action. This allowed us not only to see the gleaming vehicles as they left our production halls, but also to experience first-hand how they are used in full operation.
The working day started at 7 a.m. at the company headquarters in Ludesch. From there, we set off with the DIAMO Combi for Hochmontafon – our destination was a site at an altitude of around 2,000 metres. The task at hand was to empty and flush a grease separator system at a mountain restaurant that is open in both summer and winter.
Once the work was done, the extracted grease was transported to the nearest sewage treatment plant, where it will be reused for the biogas plant. This means that the operation not only makes an important contribution to cleanliness on site, but also to sustainable energy production.
The journey itself was also an experience: the four-wheel drive vehicle climbed high up a typical narrow Alpine road with tight bends. But this was no problem for experienced driver Thomas – he mastered the route with confidence and skill.
This vehicle is available for regional operations on all mountain railways in Vorarlberg, demonstrating its versatility and reliability on a daily basis.
